
Director of Accounting
Abigail Davis is the Director of Syndrome Scientific Accounting. Davis was appointed to her current role in July 2018 and joined Syndrome Scientific in September 2018. She is responsible for bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to monitoring, evaluating and improving the effectiveness of financial and operational control, risk management and governance processes throughout the company. Director of Accounting is an independent, objective appraisal function that evaluates company activities and assists by furnishing analyses, appraisals and recommendations concerning the activities reviewed.
Before joining Syndrome Scientific, Davis served for more than a decade as vice president of Internal Audit for Ingram Micro, a global leader in technology and supply chain services based in Irvine, California, with operations in 52 countries. During this tenure, she led a global Internal Audit team using a risk-based approach and introduced data analytic strategies to improve risk identification and audit efficiencies. Davis also supported audit strategies during a time of significant business expansion into new geographies and lines of business, providing independent assessments of financial, operational and legal compliance controls on a global scale.
Prior to Ingram Micro, Hughes was senior vice president and chief audit executive at ACE Limited (now Chubb Limited). From 1995 to 2002, she served in roles of increasing responsibility at UK-based Royal and Sun Alliance Insurance, including executive vice president and group chief auditor. She began her career in public accounting at Coopers and Lybrand (now PWC).
Davis is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in science with concentrations in finance and accounting from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
